Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience providing customer service to customers and management, including consulting, recommending, negotiating, and delivering solutions related to billing and planning. Must have experience collaborating with technical groups or departments in order to develop solutions.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses three or more years of sales and marketing experience; or three or more years experience in an account management role with frequent contact with major customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with financial and economic analysis.
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the utility distribution system, electrical theory, and demand side management/energy efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and resolving issues that are routine and/or non-critical in nature that typically have established precedents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non- echnical clients.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Preferences:
Demonstrated experience delivering utility programs or services to major customers. Experience with ERP and SAP.
Typical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will represent the company with business customers by resolving electric energy services issues and marketing energy efficiency, demand reduction and other strategies, to ensure the attainment of goals and continuous improvement of customer satisfaction. Typical responsibilities include: consulting with customers to assess their business needs and requirements; identifying value added company products, services, and/or innovative solutions to address business needs; maintaining relationships and promoting energy efficiency and demand response programs and services to large revenue producing customers; identifying and promoting new business opportunities utilizing products and services in support of corporate business objectives; identifying and managing resolution of issues that are routine and/or non-critical in nature and typically have established precedents; frequent contact with customers, management, and engineering/technical staff to consult, recommend, negotiate, and sell solutions; performing utility rate analyses, return on investment calculations with regards to energy efficiency, and providing customers with best demand response options through evolution of cost benefits; routine internal contact with many levels of management to provide information; providing recommendations and influencing corporate and department decisions that typically have a moderate impact at the department level; and perform other duties as required.
